Shaping Clay Since 1968

Welcome to Waimakariri Pottery Group! We’ve been creating ceramics and a community since 1968. We meet every Tuesday morning and Thursday evening to share ideas, pottery knowledge, and a delicious shared lunch (on Tuesdays!).. Our club is a welcoming, relaxed space where potters of all levels can connect and create.

We offer a fully equipped facility including:

  • 2 electric kilns
  • Raku, pit, and salt kilns
  • Electric wheels
  • Slab roller
  • Extruders
  • Pottery tools, banding wheels, moulds, and more

 

Classes available: Wednesdays 9:30am to 12:30pm and 7pm to 9pm; Saturdays 9am to 12pm. *during school terms

What’s On…

CLUB OPEN DAY – Sunday 22nd June

The club is hosting an open day on Matariki, June 22nd. We plan to run BBQ, run pot sates, have a  pit/raku demo and let the public have a go with clay or on the wheel. If you’d like to contribute pots  for sale or volunteer to help out on the day please let us know.

PIT AND RAKU FIRING – Sunday 18th May
